I love the dedication to zero waste! I also find the jute and paper tags to be so cute. The main reason I first tried the soap from saaboon was that I hated how much packaging there was for my hand soap, body wash, shaving gel, etc. I wanted to reduce my impact a little and this was a great way to do it. Now I’m completely in love with all of the bars I’ve tried and have a storage container specifically for them. Thank you for all that you do!

Another fantastic perk of shopping at Saaboon: the amount of waste I don’t create. I also love jute and use it for crafts at home (flower plants, hangers…). I actually also recently donated a whole bunch to Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary so that they can fix the holes in the nets that hold the hay. I will also fix my cat’s tree with jute so that he still has a decent sratching post (cheaper and more eco-friendly than buying a new one). Thanks for everything!

I have a jute rug which a love so natural and rustic looking. I also use jute twine instead of tape to wrap Christmas presents which makes recycling of my newspaper wrapping paper easier.

There are so many creative ways to get more eco-friendly! With the wind in Ottawa this week Jute would be great to keep all of your recyclables in their proper bin instead of flying everywhere. One of my plants is near the point where it needs a little support and I plan on using Jute to help it bounce back.

Love that you create such neat eco friendly packaging and all without having to compromise style! Jute is wonderful and so versatile! I also use it around the house to hang items. My favourite is by far a large set of miniature paintings I’ve collected over time from an artist that I hung on a piece of jute horizontally on my wall. It looks stunning and gives such a nice rustic feel to the display. Reading your article about jute makes me want to use it even more! So glad I read this, thanks for sharing!

This was a really nice post, and now I know about Jute! I came here from your Facebook and it’s nice to see a small company doing so much for the zero-waste, cruelty free thing. I’m going to keep an eye out for jute, I wonder if it goes fuzzy like string after a little while…

Love jute and love the way it looks. I’ve used it for as long as I can remember around the holidays to wrap gifts. We’ve always used towels of sorts to wrap gifts instead of wasting wrapping paper and I use jute to tie it all together and knot it into a bow! I love the continuous drive towards a waste free, package free lifestyle and am so thankful you continue to incorporate it into the shop!

Love that you use jute in your packaging and store. I use it to help plants stay upright (indoor and out); to act as “ribbon” for simplified gift wrapping; and as “yarn”, to knit into sturdy (if scratchy) small and medium-sized hanging baskets for the front hall, in which to store gloves and mitts in winter and sunglasses and sunblock in summer.

Jute is also very pretty. My preference is to purchase products with minimal packaging.

Jute is great! Our carpet is made from jute and I’ve bought goods from the market that had jute.

Whats great about it is I can keep reusing it after its cut. Mostly use it at home for tying up plants or to hang herbs and flowers to dry. Thank you so much for sharing how you use this versatile thread around your workspace!
