Before SAABOON — I remember stepping out of the shower and thinking — my skin should feel better than this. Clean, not stripped. Comfortable, not irritated. Products that were supposed to be “gentle” didn’t feel that way. I’d read the label and understand nothing on it. That seemed like a problem.
So I decided to make my own soap. I started in my kitchen in Ottawa, teaching myself the traditional cold-process method and working in small batches. Testing oils. Adjusting formulas. Starting over when something didn’t feel right. At first, it was just for me. And it worked. What started as a personal experiment slowly became SAABOON.
I care about animals. For me, that means no animal products at all — in anything I make. It's also cruelty-free: nothing here is tested on animals, full stop. Plant-based is simply how I've always worked. That's why everything SAABOON makes is vegan.
At 10 years old, I came to Canada as a refugee with my family, leaving everything behind. Canada gave us a second chance. SAABOON is what I’ve built from it — with my own hands, from scratch, one batch at a time.
That’s still how it works today. Every product is made by me. No outsourcing, no scaling up, no shortcuts. When something has my name on it, I stand behind it completely — because I made it.
